EFCC arrests 20 suspected internet fraudsters
The Army has handed over 20 suspected internet fraudsters to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Office.
The suspects, according to the commission’s Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwajaren, were arrested during a raid by the Army at Ijagun, Odogbolu, in Ogun State.
The suspects include Azeez Busayo, Olubor Winner, Amusa Abdulhakeem, Osoko David, Diyaolu Damilola, Olunlade Olamilekan, Amaje Armstrong, Akorede Tope and Owonifari Sanwiyu.
Others are Ganiyu Sodiq, Onasanya Adeniyi, Ajayi Adesola, Asenuga Ayotomiwa, Bamgboye Quadri, Ayede Oluwaseun, Oseni Ismail, Olaniyan Emmanuel, Akanni Olaleye and Onasile Sunday.
Uwajaren said that the items recovered from the suspects included 11 vehicles, 29 phones and suspected hard drugs.
“The vehicles recovered from them are still in the custody of the Army.
“Nineteen of the 20 arrested have been indicted by the investigation which is still ongoing,” he said.
The EFCC spokesman, however, said the suspect will be arraigned as soon as investigation is concluded.
