Gun seized at home after man threatens woman

Police are searching for a Rio Claro man after he allegedly threatened to shoot a woman he lives with.  

Police explained that at about 8am on Sunday, officers of the Rio Claro District, led by Insp Ragbir, responded to a report of a disturbance at Rivers Drive, Jeffers Crossing, Tabaquite Road, Rio Claro. 

At the location, they met a 29-year-old woman. 

She pointed to a man who was about 75 feet away at the time and reported that he made threats to shoot her over an argument. 

She also indicated that he has a shotgun and cartridges in his room.  

The police officers attempted to approach the man, but he ran off into some bushes and escaped. 

She then escorted the said officers into her home, where she pointed out a homemade shotgun and seven rounds 12-gauge cartridges in his room which was retrieved.  

PC Aberdeen is continuing inquiries.
